Welcome to Eastlake Middle Athletics! Participation in a sports program is one of the best ways to keep students involved and interested in school, and my role as Athletic Director here at ELM is to ensure that students are aware of the sports opportunities available to them.

Just like high schools, we now have an official, district-sponsored organization called the Middle School Athletic League (MSAL). Our students are able to compete against other schools within the Mesa League, which is one of two leagues that exist under the MSAL. These are the “official” school teams, and should not be confused with the after school Homework Club, tutoring, or school intramural programs.

The Middle School Athletic League was formed during the 2008-2009 school year, and since that time ELM students have been hugely successful, performing at high levels during their seasons.

You will find a list of projected sports at the right – of course, each program is subject to change, according to funding from the Sweetwater Union High School District. Please note that each team has limited spaces for participants. Though some sports are more competitive on try-out day than others, first-time players are strongly encouraged to try out. Games are typically played on Saturdays, and practices are usually held two or three times a week after school, at times convenient for the coach of each particular team.
